BLAYDON duly romped to the title; WELLSTREAM NTSL UNDER-18 DIVISION


BLAYDON duly romped to the title after beating Consett by nine wickets in a one-sided encounter.


With Kieran Milburn bagging 3-17, Lintz could only make 92-4. Blaydon's championship win came after 11 straight victories and confirmed their stranglehold on the title - this latest success was the fifth year in a row they have dominated.SEAHAM Harbour were in freeflowing form in the 3D Durham Coast League Under-18 Division, racking up 143-4 against visiting Bill Quay.Their batsmen were given a hard time by the Ryton attack and at one time Sacriston slumped to 35-6. However, Peter Scaife (23no) joined with Jack Keall (19no) in an unbroken stand of 52 as they closed on 87-6. Dean Henderson excelled for the visitors, picking up the top three batsmen for just 13 runs.Ryan Martin was the main driving force as the Harbour surged along at over seven runs an over.Lanchester defeated Swalwell by 48 runs, while Burnopfield conceded their match at Annfield Plain.Ross Nicholson (2-9) and Phil Miller (2-19) shone as Consett were bowled out for 70.Keith Winn, with 27, was the only visiting batsman to look as though he could cope with the home attack.Shotley Bridge kept up their own hopes of finishing second as they defeated Lintz by six wickets.Quay's Stuart Gray recorded outstanding figures of 3-16 despite Harbour's heavy scoring.The Ryton response quickly became a procession as Jack Hardy (5-10) and Matthew Wright (3-9) proved virtually unplayable, ripping through the visiting line-up in just 12.3 overs to leave them 40 all out.He struck 64 in double-quick time and, with useful contributions right through the order, Seaham posted a formidable target.Quay gave the run chase a good go before eventually running out of steam and wickets as they were bowled out for 126 to fall just 17 runs short.Sacriston have a good chance of finishing runners-up after a 47-run home win over Ryton confirmed their current position in the table.
